Most of my art is produced while listening to music. The strains of classical instruments, folk songs or old fashioned rock and roll brings out the play in me and the creative process takes on a life of it’s own. I work with Acrylic paints in a process called Fluid Art. I work on canvases of all sizes, watercolor paper that frames beautifully and 4 x 4 and 6 x 6 inch tiles – creating coasters that are varnished and can be used in the home with cold drinks or displayed on little easels. The fun is in the way that the paints move and interact with one another in ways that surprise and delight…often revealing surprises. Sometimes it’s a meditation in motion; sometimes it’s a bold dance. Here are close up samplings of my style of painting.
The samplings below are from my small paintings created on art paper. These paintings are double matted with professional quality mats to create a 5 x 7 opening for the art and allow them to fit into standard 8 x 10 frames.
These are examples of 4 x 4 porcelain tiles. They are coated with resin for protection and shine and can be used as coasters for cold drinks or placed on small easels for display.
These are close up sections of canvas paintings which are stretched on wooden frames. I create canvases of all sizes ranging from small 6 x 6 inch squares to very large canvases of various shapes and sizes.
